He engaged in policy-making in ICT, cyber security and technology for more than 20 years.

    Previously, he was the Deputy Director-General for Bureau of Economy and Industry in Aichi Prefectural Government, where he was responsible for promotion of the automotive industry. He launched to introduce the self-driving bus project, supporting start-up business initiatives as a senior staff of the Governor.

    Koki began his government career at Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) in 2002. At MIC, he led the promotion of the Japanese TV program exports and the policy-making related to the broadcasting industry. Also, he drafted several IoT and ICT strategy as the Principal Deputy Director in the ICT bureau of MIC. He has worked at Mission of Japan to ASEAN as a diplomat and National Center of Incident readiness and Strategy For Cybersecurity (NISC) in the Government.

    He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Tokyo and received a master’s degree in international and public affairs from the University of California, San Diego(UCSD). He was born and grown in Kyoto.
