Carbon neutrality is about aiming at zero greenhouse gas emissions. In October 2020, the government declared its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. It is predicted that the introduction of renewable energy will further advance toward the realization of a carbon-neutral society. GS Yuasa, a long established energy device company, has manufactured Japan's first lead-acid batteries and mass-produced the world's first lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. In this presentation, we will introduce our efforts to achieve a carbon-neutral society through the use of our storage batteries.

The past two years have seen a steady spread of sustainable and ESG initiatives in the Japanese food and agriculture industry, and after many years since the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, the movement has accelerated again.
