“Low cost renewable energy for resilient supply”
Low cost renewables for resilient energy supply
Cost of electricity from renewable sources has fallen fast in the last 2 years. Development is seen both in industrial countries as well as emerging economies.
Recently China has accelerated their deployment dramatically outpacing all other countries in the solar and wind sectors.
The low costs will result in renewable electricity dominate supply to industries who need low electricity prices, as well as household enjoying low cost electricity for a good standard of living.
As our dependence on technologies using electricity has increased, electricity is not only a matter of costs. Supply systems resilient against natural disasters, or possible deliberate assaults are valuable.
Distributed renewable generation can balance essential supply in isolated grids at regional, local and household level when large generators or transmission fail. Local batteries used in households or microgrids in addition provide low cost grid balancing service during normal operation.

The advance of Artificial Intelligence is changing the world on a daily basis. What was once the realm of science fiction is now all over our newsfeed. For better or for worse.
But what about creativity? Will AI ever really be able to hack the muse and take over our uniquely human gift of creativity? And, even more importantly, how will this affect the creative industry as a whole?
With the idea to explore the limits of automated creativity, in 2016 the Dutch Ad agency J. Walter Thompson started the project ‘The Next Rembrandt’. The task: to analyze the integral oeuvre from artist, understand the data and create a new painting mimicking the style of the Dutch genius.
