In the future hydrogen society, mobile hydrogen extraction & purification from liquid hydrogen carrier will offer us great opportunity to improve safety and economic efficiency by avoiding ultra-high-pressure hydrogen storage & transportation. Introduction and expansion of solar power generation is advancing against the backdrop of feed-in tariffs, but impacts on the power system such as instability of power generation and variability of tidal currents cannot be ignored.
Under these circumstances, we propose a system to achieve reduced environmental impact, reduced electricity charges and BCP measures with a combination of household consumption of solar power generation and storage batteries, as a new form of solar power generation usage.

Smart communities/cities research projects are vibrant in Europe. The Horizon 2020 programme, which can facilitate cooperation will be presented, as well as several case studies of Europe-Japan cooperation.

Through efforts actually implemented in Kyoto Prefecture, we will introduce the mechanisms and techniques to effectively attract foreign tourists combined with the digital signage provided by smartphone apps, video communication and SNS in order to convey information on the hidden spots, culture and hospitality of Kyoto Prefecture.

This introduction will be mixed with demonstrations and examples of the “Omotenashi Guide” system which was the first in the world to realize announcements and guidance delivered in multiple languages and converted in characters for foreign tourists who do not understand Japanese, persons with disabilities, elderly people and others.

For deployment of SCC, while thinking about what we need to consider, we will suggest the direction Japan should take based on trends we have seen in ongoing research at our company and on projects in India.
